The subject I'd much rather read about from you: What's actually going on in the heads of the heads of NATO states, and Zelensky. They know this war is lost, and they know the nazis will kill Zelensky if he signs an accord. So what's going through their heads now?

Even if one assumes they are corrupt, imagining their interior dialogues would be fascinating. European elites are aware their power is being threatened by populist adversaries. That's why the EU is cracking down on "hate speech" (code for dissent), and why they're jailing opposition leaders or blocking them from being candidates for high office. This desperation means it's clear that they're running out of options to stay in power...

I fully agree. It's way too mysterious as to who actually is driving all of this craziness. They are very organized, working through the UN and all kinds of agencies (including Biden and the DNC, BTW). It certainly isn't spontaneous...

I recall reading that the Banderists threatened to hang Zelenskii from some famous tree if he makes any concessions to Russia. A gun to his head throughout all of this seems like a good description. My question is why VZ has not skipped town. Will some guy with an ice pick hunt him down, wherever he goes? Seems likely. His only option is to drive a cab in NYC. That’s pretty anonymous is it not?

It seems to me that he is a dead man walking' whatever he does.

As long as the war keeps going he is safe?

Like someone else we know in Israel.

An excellent article so beautifully written and structured.

I'm going to invent another "moment" - what I call the "BBC Moment". Before I turn to that, I'd like to say that I have a vivid memory of first hearing you talk about the Odessa Moment where the West and Zelensky would have one final opportunity to accept peace on, what is now, June 2024 terms or similar before Russia would press on to take Odessa and other oblasts.

I recall someone saying to me that your predictions are far too certain. I said that I didn't think so at all because I found the reasoning behind them compelling, especially when combined with the intellect, knowledge and experience behind them. I soon found that the ones I remember had aged, or were ageing very well and now, here we are - another prediction made a fair while ago coming true.

Yet again, I expect the West (which includes Zelensky for this purpose) to carry on sacrificing Ukraine and Ukrainians for nefarious and unattainable goals despite Trump's chaotic efforts until the moment when, even to those who get their news from the BBC or equally bad Western MSM, things are so bad that the lipstick has worn off the pig and surrendering, or accepting peace on the then Russian terms, no longer seems such a reprehensible idea. That's the BBC Moment

Unless, of course, the military surrenders first which, I'd expect, is a likely outcome if the BBC Moment doesn't come soon

Cogent, penetrating analysis by an accomplished champion of disarmament and an indefatigable peacemaker.

Well, since he is a former comedian, maybe it is all a big joke with Zelensky, just an ongoing comedy act with deadly consequences.

Wait, the US announced it will be pulling troops out of Europe?
