You literally have no idea what you are talking about. When the dust settles, you will be exposed for the fool you are. I have been, am, and will always be a true friend of Alexander Zyrianov. You, however, are not, which is why you’re sticking your nose into a subject you know nothing about. One might even think you wish Alexander I’ll.

Thank you, Scott and — the eternal curse on Blinken’s State / War Dept. which blocked your planned trip to Russia in pursuit of peace with democratic and capitalist Russia.

Yet, he is completely ignoring the plight of his host and 'dear friend' - without whom he could not have gotten his book published and distributed - who was arbitrarily arrested and continues to be illegitimately detained by a corrupt FSB.

To me they were not up to speed. They must have known the deep seated animosity that was behind all the Maidan. They would have to fight NATO and it's a tall order.

Also from an analysis of historical events their is little doubt as to who's action led to this outcome. Minsk 1 and 2 are hard to ignore. A lot of money has been spent to carve Putin's undeserved reputation in the West.

Hopefully his listing of what it will take for peace recently offered, will open some eyes. Hell, if they had taken his first offer, they would still have a country and all the population, killed, wounded or gone to never return.

As usual, insightful and beautifully written.

I suspect that Russia was not ready for war and the cautious nature of Putin prevented him from reacting quickly. Furthermore, in 2014, the craziness and shallow facade of the USSA was not quite as obvious as today. Had Russia intervened in larger scale in 2014, the battles would be much more drawn out, higher casualty, and may even lead the DS in USSA to upgrade their MIC several years earlier. Donbass area and the people there had shouldered the initial shock of Nazi invasion but in a much drawn out 8 years before Russia started the SMO.

Agreed. Russia did help prior to the official start of the SMO though with weapons, intelligence. And Russian "mercenaries" too.

Thanks Mr Ritter for this report.

I think maybe Russia hoped for a negotiated settlement of the Donbass situation. And then when they realized nobody would negotiate with them - they prepared for a war in Ukraine. Thier initial opening move of sending Russian Troops into Ukraine and the doorstep of Kyiv was a gamble. And it should have worked, except the west wouldn't allow it. I truly don't understand why the US and UK would care that much about Ukraine. Is their hatred of Russia so intense that they don't care about what happens to Ukraine and it's peoples? It seems more so every day that this war goes on.

It seems the west is just giving enough aid to Ukraine to keep the war going on. Maybe this was a miscalculation on thier part. Maybe they thought it wouldn't take much to sweep Russian Troops back into Russia. Maybe they relied on too many computer models? As the climate wierdo seem to do. Maybe they just wanted a long drawn out war to weaken Russia? It seems more and more that the Biden administration could care less about what happens to the Ukrainian people. Not even a song from Blinken can change my mind on this.

Yes.

I believe President Putin answered in 2015 that when initially polled in 2014 only a bare majority of Donetsk actually wanted reunification with Russia.

As discrimination, economic deprivation and oppression increased over time the large majority came to want independence from Ukraine - but most thought it could be won without conflict.

Putin suspected otherwise and set about disconnecting from the west with the help of sanctions and rebuilding the military.

All this to say no one was ready in 2014. Especially those in Donbass.

Most moving and informative, Scott, and I thank and congratulate you on all the excellent work you do. You deserve the Nobel Peace Prize for all the aforementioned work but, in these evil times? I doubt it. God bless you, keep spreading the truth and stay safe. We need you.

How is Alexander doing? I have heard reports that he was arrested on the same day that your passport was taken.

This is a timely reminder that the war began in 2014 and that 2022 was the beginning of a rescue operation for the people of Donbas who were the victims of a cruel and repressive regime which was itself the mercenary arm of another cruel and repressive regime.

When I look at Scott, I see the face of my lifelong friend Glenn Cockerham. Like others of my age group, we struggled to find decent jobs, since wall st and DC exported them. Glenn's optimism in the face of odds stacked against him, made me admire him even more. He was obese and today's evil society treats everyone it can as subhuman, or as the jews who rule over us, call'em goyim. God bless you and keep you safe. biden and crew belong in a zoo cage with other wild animals imo.

Scott thank you for this moving post. As a US citizen I have “standing” to take a position on the US aid that perpetuates the war and brings us to close to needless confrontation. Is it too arrogant and “know it all” on my part to surmise that the Kiev leadership liberally grifts off this aid? I wrote to my House Rep who supported the aid package asking “what holds you back from respecting the referendums of peoples in the Eastern Republics who reject Kiev’s authority? Who are you … who are we … to force it in them? Or attempt to? Zelenskiy whines about Kiev’s ‘territorial integrity’ as if the Donbas region is some sort of entitlement. Explain, Rep Kean!”

Why the ph**k am I supposed to care about Kiev’s territorial integrity? And why do the Kiev forces fight to the death over it? Why? I really don’t get it.

Here’s a way to stop the fighting. Kiev stop sending troops to the front lines. Just stop. What do you think? Is it some sort of insanity? I’m supposed to admire Kiev’s bravery and valor? Sorry but I don’t. As Kings like to say, “Some of you may die but it’s a chance I’ll have to take.”

I have these question for neighbors who still have “I stand with Ukraine” on their lawns. Our neighbor across the street is a Kiev native. He supports Trump but believes Putin wants to re-absorb all of Easter Europe. So strong is the hold of propaganda.

I know that correlation is not causation. Kennedy did not have a coherent position on Ukraine till I wrote to him on the CHD platform recommending that he interview you. And he did!

Why are you equivocating on Alexander Zyryanov's arrest?!? He was absolutely key to your success in reaching the public about what is happening in Ukraine, and you know perfectly well he is being targeted by a corrupt FSB - which also, coincidentally, allowed the Crocus City Hall massacre to go on unhindered despite having offices NEXT DOOR while it happened. Your courage clearly has arbitrary limits. Shame on you:

'On June 3, US Customs and Border Protection officers seized Scott Ritter’s passport as he was boarding a flight to Istanbul en route to Russia. The former UN weapons inspector was booked to speak at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum before embarking on a 40-day tour of Russia organized by Alexander Zyryanov, the head of the Novosibirsk Region Development Corporation.

Zyryanov was also prevented from traveling to St. Petersburg: The Novosibirsk FSB arrested him just a few hours before Ritter was supposed to fly out of JFK International Airport.

While the confiscation of Ritter’s passport has received extensive coverage in alternative media (and rightfully so), there is a conspicuous lack of discussion in independent media about Zyryanov’s curiously timed detention.'
