Thank you, Major Ritter (retired) for having the courage to break through the western propaganda barrier and tell it like it is. You are a true diplomat 🫡
I just watched this interview by Glen Diesen with Karaganov. He doesn’t mince his words…
For those of you who appreciate Scott Ritter’s work, I highly suggest you follow Matt Stickler as well. I’d seen his comments in the past, but finally looked at his profile today. He’s a prolific writer, and a “stickler” for details. (sorry Matt, I just couldn’t resist… 😎)
I got a lot of inspiration and some material from watching Scott Ritter, Mearsheimer, MacGregor, and Wilkerson, plus a few others. I think that I actually first discovered Scott in 2003 when I was a college student protesting against the war in Iraq. Found him again recently on Judging Freedom, a good 20 years later. Thanks for the free publicity!!
You raise a great point Matt. Canada supported the US in GWI, but refused in GWII, as there was no UN mandate. Remember Colin Powell’s pathetic address to the UN, about Iraq’s WMD? Hillary Clinton’s allegations of “yellow cake”? It’s all obvious now, in retrospect, but why haven’t we learned? Blood and treasure are being expended, on a massive scale!
For @Scott Ritter, I apologize for the thread-drift, but you have opened the proverbial “Pandora’s box” here, and generated some great debate. *Semper fi* Marine! Enormous respect.
Yeah, Wilkerson often mentions how he regrets a lot of the actions taken by the Bush Jr. Administration... he understands the dynamics better than just about anyone, and sees his own country being on the wrong side of history. I admire him for that...!
America's network of military bases around the world is a relic of the 20th Century. They were established in the wake of World War 2, then sustained and expanded as a result of the Cold War and its aftermath.
Keeping with the global interest in multipolarity and the emerging economic power of the Global South through BRICS, most of these bases may now be unnecessary and increasingly irrelevant.
China's development model seeks mutual economic benefits with other countries, but without the kind of military and political control that the US has insisted upon since the last century.
Thus, the remainder of the 21st Century may see the US make a mad dash for total domination of the world, or be forced to accept a humiliating retreat from many of the countries in which it has based its military forces.
Interesting comment. I thought the rush to attack Iraq (and seven other countries) after 9/11 was to secure enough oil to ensure that the U.S. would be the superpower for another generation (since war runs on oil). Then, all those other massive oil reserves turned up.
And now Trump has seized the biggest of them, Venezuela.
It’s important to understand that the massive Venezuelan oil reserves are heavy “tar sands”. Very similar to the Canadian tar sands. Processing, and refining it is exceedingly difficult. Currently, Canada imports diluants from the US, in order to ship the oil to the US for refining, then buys-back the refined product at a considerable markup. That’s all well and good, except the US refineries are operating at 95+% capacity. It’s a “trapped asset”. Guess which country is operating at 70% capacity? China! America has been outmanoeuvred once again. The era of “gunboat diplomacy” is gone. The current battle is economic, and the BRICS+ have the upper-hand. Buy physical gold and silver, folks. 1930 is coming back!
Yeah, it seemed like Bush was ready to attack Iran by 2005 but then the war in Iraq didn't go according to plan. Waiting another 20 years to attack Iran is probably considered "strategic patience" by the neoconservative hawks. Demand for oil had been decreasing because of the spread of electric cars and renewable energy. So prices had been down for a while before this war drove them up again. In a book that I wrote, I described tensions between countries that find profit in war (the US) versus countries that find profit in peace (China, India, the EU to a lesser extent)...
Economic dependency and close military coöperation through NATO have only strengthened EU-US ties. Germany is a mess, with its WOII-based guilt complex and Big Bankers' interests directly served by Merz and AfD's Weidel (investment bankers), leading both sides of the political spectrum. top-down EU regulation has come to supercede national policies on many levels, stifling bottom-up and micro development. the EU is a superficial union and it's brewing: its diplomats do not represent its people.
Well, during the Cold War, it was commonly understood that Western Europe was the American sphere of influence and Eastern Europe was the Soviet sphere of influence. More recently, the mainstream media likes to gloss over and hide America's role in the founding of the EU. So I'm glad you pointed that out.
I actually wrote a book which partially covers this topic, and I published an outline of it on my page here. People who don't know Scott Ritter may try to write him off as anti-American or anti-European and pro-Russian. But in my view he is simply opposed to empire, especially the American Empire, which is the same place that I am coming from.
European leaders are more charismatic than Trump, which is not saying much, but at the end of the day, they depend on the US for far too much, as you point out.
hehehe, 'charismatic' is not quite the term we'd naturally use to describe European leaders. still, I guess by way of the myriad, often local political parties all vying for votes, there's a certain degree of transparency and accountability expected from said leaders. all the best with your book!
In your book do you offer an opinion as to whether China is doing their Belt-Road project in order to attain total dominance of the entire world (as our neocons espouse), or if they really mean peace and prosperity for all? I'd like to know your thoughts on that.
Well the book is not in publication yet. I don't go beyond the foreseeable future in my predictions. So right now, China is merely at the stage of challenging US dominance, not creating their own hegemony yet.
China and India both have 1.5 billion people and nuclear weapons. They could have a Cold War with each other, but that's speculation. Personally, I don't think that China seeks to dominate India, but people in government in India make good salaries agonizing over this possibility.
As a footnote, India's population is still growing while China's is shrinking.
Yeah, the political establishment in the US suffers from a terminal case of imperial hubris.
China and India have had border wars and have a long-standing dispute over Chinese support for Pakistan.
But generally they live in peace and it would be a huge break in the historical record if there was aggression by one against the other on a large scale.
I strongly support pursuit of diplomatic relations with Russia, and I have great respect for Putin, Lavrov and Medvedev.
But I object to calling Germans the biggest mass murderers in modern history. The Germans of today can not be blamed for Hitler and the Nazis. And Germany has a wonderful cultural history, prior to the Nazis.
Can you blame Russians today for the brutality of Stalin? Certainly not.
BTW: I am an American Jew of Russian descent, married to an American of German descent.
I tell you the real evil puppet masters on this planet are based in London, Washington DC, and Jerusalem (Netanyahu).
In D.C., it is the so-called "Deep State", the political descendants of the crazy generals who tried to bully JFK into nuking the Soviet Union, or back in 1953, the CIA coup vs. Iran's Mossadegh.
In 2014 they engineered a Nazi coup in Ukraine which led to the current war.
Anyhow, I'm glad you are doing what you're doing, Scott. I just made a little donation. Keep up the good work!
(BTW: I'm an old friend of Ryan Milton, who almost went to Russia with you--but the bastards took your passport from you that time)
But the German institutions of today are directly descendant of the Nazi remnants put in power in West Germany after the war. And once again they are financing a genocide, this time in Gaza and Lebanon.
The whole “Russophobia” madness really broke out in the post WWII era. The US and Russia both poached the German scientists working on Germany’s atomic weapon project. They were very advanced - remember the raid on the heavy water processing facility in Norway in WWII? Russia was only steps behind the US, in making a functional atomic bomb.
Canada admitted many Ukrainian SS Galicia Division soldiers, as they were considered “anti-Soviet”. The worst (recent) example was a bona fide SS soldier given a unanimous standing ovation in our Parliament, introduced as a Ukrainian fighting against Russians in WWII. Not one stupid MP figured out that the USSR was our staunch ally in WWII. Thankfully, the Speaker, who invited him, resigned but it was swept under the carpet. Our Deputy PM at the time, Chrystia Freeland (“Lebensraum”) has been banned from Russia. Her grandfather was a bona fide Ukrainian Nazi. She is now the Economic Advisor to Ukraine. Our current PM, Mark “Carnage” Carney, is godfather to one of her spawn. Carney was previously Chairman of Brookfield Asset Management, which has contracts for reconstruction in Ukraine. (As if Putin will ever let that happen…) For those of you that think Canada is a quiet, peace-loving country, you are sorely mistaken. You just can’t make this 💩 up…
I find it most encouraging that the people of the USA have such an accomplished diplomat and experienced peacemaker representing their interests and their values at the events you attend, Scott. Thank you for that, and for sharing your experiences and your remarkable insights regarding international relations with us, good man.
Meanwhile in some Western European countries people are arrested for placing a flower at a memorial to the war dead of the Soviet Union. While some Western European countries celebrate Europe day, which does not include Russia. The only other country which suffered on this scale is China. Kallas was unaware that China and the USSR were among the victorious nations of WW2.
We must never forget those guilty of funding this awful crime against humanity and especially against the USSR from 1941 to 1945. All sides were manipulated by globalists elites and bankers. This same cult wants something far worse to occur against humanity today.
Karaganov words are very hard words but also very hard needed, to say it with President Trump words to the address of the playing with nuclear fire West, no more mr. Nice Guy.
"But I have publicly questioned the wisdom of the US State Department in banning the participation of US military officers and diplomats from these events. ..had I been ...working in an official capacity, would have made it into any number of reports that would be used to better inform US policy makers about Russia and Russian affairs."
Sounds like State really likes being the only source for intel or advice in this area. Which, in turn, suggests somebody has an agenda which is not coming down from (any of) the administration(s), but percolating up from the depths. No matter what policies are decided by the Pres, competent advisors are essential to carry it out - do we have any with out an agenda of their own?

Guys - get your heads out of your ass. You're living in a dreamworld. We constantly hear about the wonderful comradeship felt by Soviet and American forces who met at some river at the end of the war, and how you'd like to keep this spirit alive. Newsflash: no one in the US is aware of that meeting and if they were they wouldn't give a shit.
Here's the reality of the end of that war: long before the allied victory, US and British forces were seriously at work in COOPERATION with the Nazi high command to do the following:
- transport Nazi leaders safely to various countries;
- absorb Nazi scientists into ongoing or new programs such as rockets, the atom bomb, chemical warfare, psy-ops etc.
- place Nazis in the command structure of NATO and the Bundeswehr
And most importantly, take the baton of the Nazi project of drang nach osten - that is to absorb eastern Europe and eventually the Soviet Union into the western power structure.
No doubt the Dulles brothers were hard at work. The CIA was BORN WITH THIS MISSION. The Ukrainian Nazis didn't just appear out of thin air in 2014.
The CIA nurtured and supported Nazi forces in the Baltics and Ukraine for all these years.
The current issues with Ukraine are the result of a long process that began when the Soviet Union was created. The British, the Germans, then the US all had the same ambition. Expansion of NATO, the 2014 coup, the war - all part of one continuous strategy.
So, my Russian friends, wake the fuck up and quit daydreaming before it's too late for you.
I had the honor of attending a Victory Day parade in Russia's Far East way back in 2005. It was a sight to behold, even the relatively small celebration I attended.
And, tbh, I didn't fully appreciate the enormity of it all. I didn't realise that the Soviet Union lost something like 98% of all men between the ages of 18 and 30. A whole generation. Gone.
And now, once again, Europe gears up to have another war with Russia, something I don't believe our populations want or comprehend the catastrophic consequences that will follow.
I can't ever conceive that Russia will permit another war to be fought on its soil. It won't happen. That means it will be fought here, in Europe. It won't be Guards Tank Armies rolling west; it'll be missile barrages that devastate factories, power generation and distribution, bridges, roads, ports, railways: the whole gamut of everything that makes modern society function. It'll be a cluster f*ck beyond comprehension.
I don't think the Russians have any desire for war or conquest, but our pedo politicians seem hell-bent on starting a conflict we can't win.
What a shit show!
Thank you Russia and the Soviet Union for your sacrifices that I have the chance to live freely and abundantly among the ingrates that will never forgive you for the victory.

I congratulate you upon victory, my dear men and women compatriots!

another complication regarding present-day Europe is that the EU has been a US creation since its inception, one result of implementing the post-WWII, CIA-backed Marshall Plan - https://www.secretintelligenceservice.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/The-European-Union-always-was-a-CIA-project.pdf
Economic dependency and close military coöperation through NATO have only strengthened EU-US ties. I note that every member of both parties in government would have answered, "Yes! Absolutely! China is planning to take over the world!"
Is there any indication of China and India turning on each other? And isn't a shrinking population a really good thing for both China and India?
This is a difficult time to write a book about current events, when things are happening so fast.
Yeah, the political establishment in the US suffers from a terminal case of imperial hubris.

"The Germans of today can not be blamed for Hitler and the Nazis."
- Read that and think 'is this guy going to say what really need to say'.
- Mostly American Jew bankers funded Hitler and Nazis, but if you ask Grok or other AIs, they will tell you you're anti-semite 😆
- This brought it closer to that:
"Can you blame Russians today for the brutality of Stalin? Certainly not."
- Right, but no one never tell you about 80+% Jewish Bolsheviks.
- After next one, combining to those above I knew he know
BTW: I am an American Jew of Russian descent, married to an American of German descent.
