Rewriting Russia's history in Odessa will be up to the same scum that are writing current American History of Amoral Opportunists dancing on the dead of the Innocent for strokes and money.

May sane Americans and Russians meet and find a resolution to this unnecessary and dishonorable treatment of Russia as a pariah, when the U.S. would be better served to erase all in Washington DC, if only to save what is left of America.

Why do you think (believe[?]) that the Beltway Cretins will have any say whatsoever in what Russia chooses to accomplish there? Or that the West's self-serving interpretation of said actions will matter to any numbers of consequence. Their credibility has more than waned already. Same goes for the mediocre so-called leaders of the EU-G7. The People are waking up, slowly, yes, but most assuredly so.

Let’s hope and pray so.

"Why do you think (believe[?]) that the Beltway Cretins will have any say whatsoever in what Russia chooses to accomplish there?"

Unclear question. Of course the scum in DC have a say. Several hundred thousand dead Ukrainians are a result of their "say". Fortunately DC scum, by definition, are the bottom of the barrel for understanding and leadership. In that, they are the first in line to have their butts scraped raw for the vinegar soaking. And ultimately will have no say in the final outcome. However, they will continue to hold their head(s) in a bucket of water, sanctions, to show they are not entirely powerless; at least in their own minds.

Waking up. Perhaps, maybe probably.

The rest of America would thank Putin for breaking the Nazi Third Reich heart in DC, only the Russians can defeat that evil force of the Devil!

The Monument to the Soviet Army in Sofia, Bulgaria is being dismantled as we speak.

The "official" reason was that it had cracks and was dangerous and needed to be removed and restored.

They are cutting it in pieces - it tells you no one has intention to restore it.

The cut the hand of the Russian soldier and then his head. The other figures are Bulgarian people, including a child.

They are going to cut the head of the poor child.

All this is doing of the corrupt Bulgarian ruling class paid by the USA.

I am disgusted. There will be a pay day for these fascists!

thank you for mentioning this, so violent, yet utterly useless.

Yes, the USA is soon to meet once again, all the enemies it made on its way up. All the sycophantic, grovelling puppet governments it set up in its wake; the so called leaders of the "democratic" vassal states will pay their dues. One such being Julia Gillard - sycophant par excellence: Gillard pledges 'firm friendship' with US... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xpL5xo1k6I&t=89s

A disgusting, humiliating embarrassment to ANY Australian with a modicum of pride.

The American tragedy is the wasted opportunity to create a REAL UN and international law, an alliance of REAL democratic states, a truly democratic world order that could have emerged from the great wealth of international respect and admiration the US had in the post-WWII era, but for the cynical, power-hungry hidden leadership (Psychopaths Alan Dulles et al) with their irrational, hysterical, pathological antipathy to anything socialist --- or even social and the encouraged hubris of its insulated and gullible population.

two articles I'd like to share here, closely related and perhaps inspiring: first how America became a foreign corporation in 1871 - https://www.thelibertybeacon.com/when-the-united-states-became-a-corporation/

and Matt Ehret's discussion of our troubled past and how humanity has long been manipulated by oligarchs who knew how to set the species to war against itself - https://matthewehret.substack.com/p/how-an-austrian-and-british-malthusian

Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) stopped an interview with the Russian ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova after objection from the Ukrainian embassy:

https://shorturl.at/gAD15

This is the definition of a censorship.

Expand full comment

indeed. however, it was recorded, so now we know - which sort of goes against the intention of censoring (which prefers the dark & secretive).

It was supposed to be a live interview. After the protest from the Ukrainian embassy, they decided to record it, so it can be reviewed and then played later. In the end the radio's Program Council met on Saturday (which is non-working day) and voted to not broadcast the interview at all. The journalist is forbidden to broadcast it on another platform because the interview is "property" of the radio and they do not want anyone to hear it. So, we won't know what they talked about in this interview. If the journalist Volgin talks publicly about what they talked about in the interview with the Russian ambassador, he will be prosecuted and could get a jail time. There is no freedom of speech in Bulgaria and this is sad.

well said. don't we all wish the world to be a better place..... the only thing I know about Bulgaria is they have beautiful folk dances and music, one of our teachers at school used to give once-yearly workshops and a performance (w/life music), just wonderful.

I think I read in a book about the notorious Robert Maxwell (sire of Ghislaine) that he had quite manipulated the Bulgarians and that their government was totally corrupt; up for the highest bidder.

Thank you Scott, I have always seen the taking of Odessa as inevitable. Doubly so because of the slaughter of the 48 people in the union hall. I realize your schedule is packed, but if you have some time in the coming weeks I would love to hear your take on Putin's 4 hour "state of the nation" address.

Thank you again and very best wishes for a great Christmas and a happy New Year!

Thanks Scott, learned a lot from your article.

Happy to read that Odessa will be Russian again and no longer used as a port to fight Crimea.

Scott ! Please check and comment on the encouragement of an enormous number of Banderites offered generous incentives (housing, pensions, relocation) to retire or relocate in Odessa by a recent Banderite Mayor. Prior to this they were very much in a minority. Sorry I'm ill in hospital and unable to unearth the names and numbers, but this was/is a very significant influence on the balance and representation of the otherwise largely russ populated city.

I visited Odessa in 72 as a tourist and saw "a" statue of Catherine the Great then, so I suspect it must have been pulled down after 72. I remember our female Russian guide saying that all of the statues below Catherine's were her lovers. I pointed out that one of those "lover" statues was of a beautiful women. The young guide just smiled and shrugged her shoulders.

Thanks, Scott. Of so much to be put back in place and good order, the redemption of Odessa is indeed a very symbolic piece of the puzzle that the West smashed and overturned in a typical post-1990 fit of "Mine!" The grifting, gloating pigs who set Russia up for the outlaw oligarchs were largely Americans who got their share of the spoils much as did the Yankee opium potentates in China in the 19th century.

For those who need a somewhat lighthearted take on the 1941 Odessa massacre I recommend the 2018 Romanian film "I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians". Russia doesn't suffer from Western short attention spans. We're talking about a people whose history reaches back for CENTURIES. They're not going to ignore their own history, nor should they. BTW, I loved the TV mini-series about Catherine The Great - a highly controversial woman but smart as hell. Definitely ranks up there with Cleopatra! That series pops up on Netflix and elsewhere once in a while. See: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7243884/

Agree! They certainly remember back as far as how the US Conned Gorbachev, encouraging him along with his Glasnost and Perestroika until Russia was weak and divided then shifting support to the corrupt, stupid alcoholic Yeltsin (He may be an idiot but he's OUR idiot). And so the economic demise of Russia began, a bargain-basement sell-off of Russian core assets. It was Putin - intelligent, street-smart, politically savvy and a true Patriot with integrity - who saved Russia from the fate that the US Neo-Cons had in mind: crippled, broken, dependent vassal state (like Australia - and most countries of Europe, South America, and Africa).

THAT's why Russians LOVE Putin - 90%+ support!! The world will NEVER see a US president or even an un-electable presidential candidate with that sort of popularity:

Another sign of the moral degradation that the kyiv regime has plunged into. A vandalistic gesture that does not damage Russia's reputation at all, but exposes the miserable attitude of the decrepit neo-Nazi government of Ukraine. Russia will take Odessa and those statues will return to their rightful place. Long live Russia!
