That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone?

They paved paradise to put up a parking lot

Why not? They paved paradise to put up a parking lot

Hey, hey, hey, paved paradise to put up a parking lot. JM

Fly away birdie,

Good humanistic hoping that may bring you onward. Destruction is not final though it is lethal to much of what is living.

Thank you Scott for your post.

If man would win. Why are so many people weak and sick?

Humanity is part of nature. Humanity is at war with itself. Humanity act as if their lives are a lottery (Las Vegas) where survival is at stake. They believe (hope) to win and ignore the reality that shows a constant waste of life.

Life is for living. To grow, to blossom and to develop further, to progress (evolution) in life.

We the people have turned nature into a garbage dump. We the people had the power to do that. We the people have the task to learn and evolve. We the people have the responsibility and the power to fix it. So that future generations have a world in which they can live a life worth living.

Each individual human being is responsible and each individual human being is in the duty.

The human beings who think it is not so. They will die!

Thank you for your voice, Scott. The paving crew is upon us trying to compete their much-sought road to Apocalypse. They will ultimately fail, of course, but much destruction will be done until they are finally immobilized by the Tar Baby of their own creation. Peace and hope!

Scott,

Thank you for writing the letter about Killdeer and our insensitivity to the animals that live near us. Your letter about the Killdeer brought to mind a song my brother wrote, and that he and I recorded many years ago. The song is entitled Lament For Horney Toad. The song has to do with the horny toads, a type of lizard that once thrived on the Mojave desert. The song also has to do with our insensitivity to the creatures who share the earth with us. You might find the song here:

The truth of it is that life is cruel in a magnitude that at times defies belief, and challenges all our concepts of Love, and reality. Wherever we look, the beauty of life is overshadowed by the constant fear and death all the living must, it seems, endure, for the fleeting pleasures, that in a hell-like-world are all the living have to aim for.

Yet, on this planet exists a creature that can make a difference, that can bring comfort, and even joy to the creatures of this world, whilst it itself tries to make sense of the madness, tripping over itself in a mad rush to survive, to understand ... yet it's purpose sits there, glaringly obvious, that this creature can reduce, not add to the suffering, a creature capable of as much good as evil, but one that still has not learnt that the gifts it possesses are for caretaking of the World, and the life in it - it is our purpose to care for this World.

It is self-evident, that when we take the time to observe the other creatures and living things of this world, we are either moved to care - naturally, or overwhelmed by the task, and out of fear find it too hard to bear, so they shut off their hearts to protect themselves from it, and in so doing, cut themselves off from the solution, from the inspiration that creatures of this world give to us, even in their darkest days.

We can find hope in the life-stories of all creatures, those which strive against all odds to accomplish their life-given goals, no matter the odds - maybe they cannot give up, maybe it is all just programming, yet somehow their efforts still inspire us, particularly when they triumph in adversity, or against all odds, we rejoice, and we rejoice because we recognise that the struggle is also our struggle, that we share this moment of existence with a great many others, all with their own stories, many whose personal stories are never known, but all stories of survival against the odds, a survival that is still a miracle, no matter where it all came from.

The end of nature is not survival, but death It has been since Adam and Eve, and will be until the fiery end at judgement day. Birds and every other living being will continue to struggle for survival, but in the end done of us will survive our own lifespan. Greenpeace is as doomed as everything else. But God sent his son into this world, not to condemn it, but though him to save it--and us. I don't know about the killdeers. I hope they will survive into the next life, for they are beautiful creatures, as are we.
