The US-Russian Citizens Summit ended the inertia that prevents the American and Russian people from joining in the bonds of friendship. It is our collective responsibility to sustain this momentum.
Scott, Thank you for your service to all humans. Peace is a dirty word to the greedy powers that be. They are really afraid of us, the majority of people on all sides who want peace and a better life for our children. Propaganda causes loss of thinking and knee jerk reactions, realizing that your supposed enemies are the same as you overcomes the power of the powerful to profit from wars. You are on the right track, the pen really is mightier than the sword.
Thanks for doing this. I attended Soviet-American Citizen Summits in 1987 in DC, organized by Harriett Crosby. The priest held up my 8 month old daughter for the opening prayer. I was also part of the Phildephia-Leningrad Sister Cities Project and a Citizen Diplomat in 1985 with the Association of Humanistic Psychology. I am the psychologist who met you in Phila, I started as a speaker for PSR in 1983 on the image of the enemy and the psychology of the arms race.
By the way, since I was too shy to speak I found it easier to do slide shows - with many political cartoons about the USSR. Sadly, I could do the same exact slide show today - the same Russophobic images. There is a saying, "To lose a friend is a tragedy. To lose an emery is a catastrophe."
Free trade - when I could no longer order from one of my favorite Etsy stores in Russia I was sad and angry. Supporting creative people creates strong bonds. I love the Russian culture and people. Thank you Scott for your voice and all you have suffered through to bring us the truth and give us hope.
Well done, Scott! I so enjoy reading and listening to your posts. But most of all I enjoy your undaunted and generous spirit. Please know it inspires me to work for peace in my own ways and places here in Edmonton, Canada.
Cool "Waging Peace" sign! Russia, China, and the USA need to pool their resources and human energy to work together implementing a solid Human and Environment Bill of Rights worldwide. A world without sexism, racism, poverty, sickness, starvation, and war. After the successful detonation of an atom bomb in Alamogordo, New Mexico in 1945, war became obsolete. By now it should be taboo. It should be in the junk drawer of history, along with torture, slavery, whale-oil lamps, incest, and Chinese foot binding.
This kind of direct interaction is necessary because we cannot trust a single word said in America from media and government about Russia. The truth is so much different than what we have been (and are still being) led to believe. We are two peoples who CAN get along just fine with each other, absent government interference.
"We must make our own history." For me, this is at the heart of the matter. We cannot leave it to the psychopaths, who are attracted to the top of the power pyramid like moths to a flame. We have to do it ourselves. Real change will only ever come from the grassroots, where real families seek to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Scott, thanks so much for doing this. I wish our governments would follow your example, and work towards peace and diplomacy instead of war and domination.
Is there an initiative like this in Canada? Doing this all over the world between countries that our governments oppose would could truly move us towards peaceful co-existence.
Scott, I have much of which to accuse the US and G-7 with respect to malign neglect and contemptuous triumphalism in the terrible nineties after 25 Dec 1991, but I'm not able to recognise what you meant about the attempt to break up Russia.
Most critical.accounts do the exact opposite, accusing the above of standing with the Yeltsin government in its attempt to keep the Russian Federation together at the time of the autumn.1993 dissolution of the Soviey era Congress of People's Deputies
Could you.spell out what you mean by the US support for breaking up Russia? I am concerned you mean Ukrainian independence for example. Ironically.even that wasn't the case if you remember the Bush "chicken Kyiv" speech
I'll leave the explanation to Scott but, Judith, your question is such a great opportunity to address some of the anti-Russia propaganda that permeates our media.
I'm sure Scott's answer will do more justice to the issue than an answer I could give, but I hope you'll keep an open mind and know that Russia is no threat to the west, and that there is so much that isn't being presented to the public about what's going on between Russia, Ukraine and western countries that support Ukraine.
I don't want to put words in Scott's mouth, but I think he is referring to The Rape of Russia, which was "a bruising economic rape carried out by corrupt Russian politicians and businessmen, assisted by Bush and (especially) Clinton administrations engaged in political payoffs to Wall Street bankers and others, and by ineptitude and greed on the part of the U.S. Treasury and the Harvard Institute for International Development, assisted by fellow travelers and manipulators at Nordex, the IMF, the World Bank, and the Federal Reserve.":
It will definitely take time to make Americans, and the West in general, aware that Russia is NOT their enemy. The Anti-Soviet Union/Russia brainwashing has gone on for a very long time. My husband and I have visited Russia three times. My Swiss husband and I were treated with kindness and respect. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Thank you, Scott, for doing your best to bring the truth about this beautiful country and beautiful people. Please do not give up.
Hi Scott, you might recall that we appeared together once on PressTV.
I would like to help you with your passport issue. I have some experience with this as I fought a case against the US government on a similar issue in Japan for Bobby Fischer.

The effort to poison the relationship between Americans and the Russian people is indeed deliberate, driven by neo conservative memories to cash in on the land mines that should have expired at the end of the Cold War, and kept in play by the terminal debasement of the US dollar as the global currency. Bankers and War Pigs demanding a boogey man to sacrifice in order to remain in power.
We are God's children, not the pawns of war mongers. We are the same, and we have a choice to stand for Peace.

We must if the USA is to survive as a GRE Great Nation and lead the world to prosperity and Peace.
How can we contact Russians to become friends and converse?
Privately-financed exchange people like Exchange Students programs.

This is probably the most important "political" move of the century for peace.

Thank you very much Scott for providing this presentation,
and for providing us listening to a moral stance that can serve
all, in the name of peace for all Americans and Russians.

I am also looking forward to our Russian friends coming back into our lives
Great initiative Scott.!! I would definitely join if I were an American citizen. Best wishes 💕
