Trump, like all our figurehead Presidents, musters people around him who tell him what they think he wants to hear. He is a wily, not intelligent man; an arrogant, not judicious man; a pampered bully, not a temperate thinker. He imagines he can treat Putin and Russia as he does Colombia and Panama. He is going to find out that he can't.
I generally like Trump (having grown up in NYC like he did) but your last statement is correct
The Russians choose their words carefully but their actions leave no question as to how this will end.
And while I remain hopeful someone like Colonel MacGregor or Scott Ritter might find their way into the listening ear of one of his advisors ...this isn't starting off well
“Not intelligent “ Are you talking of Donald Trump, the current President, yes you are, therefore you are misinformed at best, more likely uncontrolled prejudice !
As with LBJ, Trump is not being lied to but is very much a part of the lies being purposefully generated to keep the war machine well oiled. The military industrial complex do not care in the least who, where, or how many are killed. That's what weapons are made for--indiscriminate killing. From the killing of American Natives, to the killing of English, French, and American soldiers (twice), to Northern and Southern soldiers and civilians, to the final solution of American Natives, to the Spanish in Cuba and Mexico, to the Europeans, Middle Easterners and Americans (twice), the Africans, Chinese, Philippinos, and Japanese, to the Middle Easterners (again), to the Koreans, Chinese, and Americans, to the Viet Namese, Chinese, Russians, and American, to the Middle Easterners (yet again) and Americans continually ever since, to Ukraine and Russia added in more recently, American weapons by the kilotons have been pouring mayhem around the world for hundreds of years. All of our presidents have signed on to this, along with the vast majority of our elected and appointed guardians of the American citizens.
All of them have been complicit in all of the lies that have poured in profusion out of Washington, DC for its entire history. And all of our media, including our so-called educational establishment have generously spread the lies to everyone. And, yes, American citizens have been complicit by blindly or not so blindly believed the lies or at least have not opposed them. Our churches, pastors, and members have been the leading cheerleaders of our war efforts.
Trump is not interested in accuracy. He is interested in power. And his followers are just as delusional as those who cling to Biden and the joke that the Democratic Party - once known as "the working people's party" - has become. Both groups are completely blind to the failings of their own candidates, while convinced that the other side's candidates are the only ones who are failing us. BOTH parties are failing the working people. BOTH parties lie, cheat and steal. BOTH parties support the 1% and the transfer of money to them from us. However, Trump is managing to alienate our allies at such a rapid pace, that he might yet manage to break NATO up, whether he intended to or not. And that, at least, would be a good thing.
President Trump can’t possibly believe that Russia is losing. It doesn’t matter who he surrounds himself with. The rest of the population has access to the facts. I wish that I believed that he actually had a strategy but I have lost hope. Our world is surreal. I can’t believe what I’m seeing and hearing. Only time will tell, but it is not encouraging.
I believe, hopefully, that when Tulsi gets in place, she can open his eyes to facts ! If not, the agenda lies, of the deep state, will continue. Money flow to the MIC, with payoff’s to politicians, etc, while innocents die, stone cold dead !
It seems Trump has paused action on Ukraine instead focusing on domestic problems like cleaning out USAID, CIA, FBI, and so on first. Why? Maybe because he knows he has been given bad information. It is not too difficult to have a few aides gather info independently from other than IC sources and find the likes of Ritter, Napolitano, Benz, MacGregor, Jones, and many others who present information that clearly and without conflict of interest counter the narrative of the establishment. Even CIA uses open sourced material. He may also be holding out for confirmation of Gabbard as DNI, among others, so he can then fire those presently giving him bad information once he officially finds out. Or maybe he has them do it. Holding till then gives him a pretty good pretext for such a purge. And in the meanwhile he does not show his cards. Think of the traitors he would expose and dispose of. And in the meanwhile, he has done nothing aggressive toward Russia merely holding status quo and saying nothing that is a real signal as he builds his domestic position and consolidates power in his administration.
The facts of Ukraine and this Special Operation are well documented. There's a huge segment of our population that knows the truth. This isn't Vietnam. However, his reading the NYT, FT, and Wall Street will never inform.
Kellog was a shocking choice. Another mis-chosen military man. Not honest, or not up to the task.
Russia should send someone to Trump, and set the record right. If Trump knew, I'd like to think he'd act quickly.
Right now he's draining the swamp and closing the border. Someone needs to get Trump up to speed on this, ASAP. People ARE dying.
Hopefully, with USAID shuttered, some things will right themselves, just by a lack of funds.
The US president has been made aware of the the bigger implications of the defeat in Ukraine. With this information, though he may know the reality, he cannot accept them and must continue spin the fantasy so as to delay the possible consequences to the US. The longer it takes to start negotiations the more difficult it becomes, but it is difficult to start from a position of weakness when your perception of your position is based on hubris and exceptionalism. How is it possible to be humbled, if not physically?

You're a moron yourself.
Exactly right.
While every person jumps up and down.....the fact is the World is in chaos which to me is good.
The world cannot keep going in it's present state.......many of us will die BUT hopefully there will, at the end, be a re-awakening.
The West is ENTIRELY responsible.
And a crying shame brought upon us.
Yes.........but the West needs to be dismantled.
Hard to believe that the President can be fooled. His life is in a private prison fully controlled by the gate keepers.

Yes. I almost forgot. Tulsi at the DNI!!!

You meant General Westmoreland, not General McNamara.
OK, Trump won the election. The marketing and sales department can now retire. Let’s see if we can actually walk the walk now.
Well said Major ! I will pass it on …. S/F
Just like mass infection from covid and now other viral infections leads to deaths for many, sooner rather than later.
Great writing.
How about your assessment on the Gaza situation.
